Weeks of Welcome 2014

You’re invited to join the university community in welcoming UMSL’s newest and returning students to campus as we begin the Fall 2014 semester.

The Weeks of Welcome (WOW) connects the UMSL community through educational, cultural and creative programming that enhances the UMSL Experience for new and returning students.

UMSL alumni are invited to participate in one or more of the following Weeks of Welcome events:

NEW STUDENT MOVE IN – FRIDAY, AUGUST 22
OAK RESIDENCE HALL (VARIOUS TIMES AVAILABLE)

New students living in Oak Residence Hall will be moving in on this day. As these new students move into their new home, we are seeking volunteers to help serve as Welcome Crew members. This opportunity allows you to mingle with students and their families and assist by unloading, and carrying boxes to the new student’s rooms.

SERENDIPITY SENDOFF and WELCOME PICNIC - SUNDAY, AUGUST 24 AT 4:30 P.M.
MILLENNIUM STUDENT CENTER TO THOMAS JEFFERSON LIBRARY

The Serendipity Sendoff will welcome new students to the Triton family and officially kickoff the new academic year. We are looking for volunteers including current students, faculty, staff, and alumni to line the pathway leading from the Millennium Student Center to the Alumni Circle just south of the Thomas Jefferson Library. The Serendipity Sendoff will include a ceremonial passing of the torch to the incoming class. Serendipity which means “good fortune” is to represent this new journey.

Immediately following, the Welcome Picnic will begin at the Millennium Student Center. This is a welcoming picnic for all faculty, staff, new students and families to the University of Missouri-St. Louis. There is an opportunity for you to mix and mingle with incoming students to make a connection, discuss campus life, and reaffirm their decision to attend UMSL.

Thank you in advance for your support, and we look forward to your presence at WOW!
