Career Webinar - Frequently Asked Questions



The webinar series brought to you by University of Missouri – St. Louis Career Services and Alumni Engagement is a great way to advance your career online.  This web-based lecture platform accommodates your busy schedule by allowing you to improve essential interviewing, networking, and resume-building skills from the comforts of your own home.  You do not have to contend with the time constraints that often make traditional speaker series events difficult to attend; with our webinars, all you have to do is register online, follow the link provided in the confirmation email, and begin learning from some of the top minds in career advancement.


Q: Where are the webinars held?
A: Unlike traditional lectures, webinars are completely web-based.  This means that the presentation is pre-recorded and viewers watch the footage remotely from their electronic devices.  This allows you more flexibility to view the presentation at a time that fits your busy schedule.

Q: Do I have to view the webinar immediately when it becomes available?
A: No.  That’s what makes webinars so unique, you aren’t confined to a fixed time schedule.  This series affords you a 24-hour timeframe to view the webinar beginning from the time that it is originally aired.

Q: How much do the webinars cost?
A: The webinars are free to view.  This is only one of the resources available to you just for being an alumnus or alumna of University of Missouri-St. Louis.  

Q: How do I register for a webinar?
A: Each webinar requires a separate registration, but don’t worry, it’s not difficult!  You will see a listing of all upcoming offered webinars and once a topic catches your eye, click the Details link for more information on that respective webinar.  Registration will be under the heading “Resources”.  Once you click the link entitled  “Register or Login to Access Resources” you will be directed to a page where you fill in your information and create an account which will make registering for future webinars even simpler.  We suggest writing down your login information should you need to reference it in the future.

Q: I don’t remember my login information.
A: That is not a problem.  First, search the inbox of email you used to register for your confirmation email.  This can be done by using the keyword “webinar” in the search bar.  If this does not generate any results, click on the “Forgot My Password” link in the webinar’s registration page.  This will refresh your password and allow you to pick a new one.

Q: How do you view past webinars?
A: You can listen to archived recorded presentations by visiting the webinars library anytime. Please note it is best to view the webinars library using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
