"Lessons Learned from Campaign 2008 and Looking Forward to Campaign 2010"

Ken Goldstein is a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Director of the University of Wisconsin Advertising Project (wiscadproject.wisc.edu). Goldstein received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1996 with a focus on American politics and research methodology. He is the author of Interest Groups, Lobbying, and Participation in America (Cambridge University Press) and Campaign Advertising and American Democracy (Temple University Press) as well as over 30 refereed journal articles and book chapters on political communication, voter turnout, campaign finance, survey methodology, Israeli politics, presidential elections, and news coverage of health issues. He is currently at work on a book on how advertising is deployed in American presidential elections (under contract with Princeton University Press) as well as project on voting patterns in Israel, the impact of television news, and health communication.

In addition to his scholarly work, Goldstein has had extensive professional experience in conducting survey research for corporate, media, and political clients. Before attending graduate school, Goldstein worked as a researcher for the CBS News Election Unit and for the Charlie Rose show. Goldstein has worked as an election night consultant for CNN and CBS News. He is also currently a consultant for the ABC News political unit.
